Motril, the place where I was born.

Motril, where I was born and I´m living now, is a small city or a big town in Granada´s coastline.
What I like most about Motril is the situation. Not only it is by the sea, but it is by the mountains too. What is more, big cities like Málaga, Granada and Almería are an hour and a half away by car, more or less.
Another key strength is its climate. In Motril summer used to be hot but not burning, and winter is cool but not chilly. In addition, the weather is rainy only a few days each year.
If it is food you are into, you can’t do better than visit Motril. Here locals cultivate custard apple, mango and avocado. Also it is a traditional product the sugar from the reed.
Needless to say, there is an amazing fish in Motril. Most people know the shrimp from this coastal place.
On the other hand, the city centre, where I only miss a few brands, is full of shops and there is an important sea port in the beach. Motril also has a lot of churches and a big and famous park, called “towns from America”. The church I like most is which is called “The Cerro” and where is the patron saint.
To conclude, Motril is a peaceful place for living, due to the fact that it isn´t a too big place, with a wonderful climate and a splendid gastronomy. The main reason why I like it is that Motril has the advantages of a city and a town.

The kiss, Pablo Picasso

The kiss - Pablo Picasso, 1925.
París, Musée National Picasso

This painting was created by the Spanish artist Pablo Picasso in 1925 in Juan-les-Pins, France.
Picasso is most known for his introduction of cubism.
However, after the First World War, Picasso moved away from the art of cubism. By 1925 he was attracted to the surrealist movement.
In these years, Picasso didn´t doubt when it comes to paint the human figure with complete liberty.
We can always recognize the figures in spite of the loss of shape, although with difficulty.
This painting shows a passionate hug between a man and a woman. In other words, it represents the fusion of two beings. We can recognize them with a lot of problems.
The man is on the left side embracing the woman, who throws her head back. An only mouth joins them together. He lifts her from the floor.
The painting has a sexual sense. Noses remind male sex and the mouth reminds female sex.
There are violence and dynamism in this painting. Not only in the composition, but in the colors used.
This violence and this dynamism were unknown in Picasso´s paintings up to then.
I have chosen this painting due to the fact that the way he is able to make us see a couple in the middle of this shapes and colors fascinates me.
